This full-boarding school, located on the north east coast of Scotland, is a pioneer in holistic education. Founder Kurt Hahn believed in preparing pupils for life, not just exams. Learning here comes as much as sailing the school yacht or being involved in local services such as the fire brigade as from the classroom. The Gordonstoun Diploma values academic learning, the arts, culture, sports, citizenship and service as well as learning outdoors. All students are trained in expedition skills from a young age fostering independence, resilience and an instinctive understanding of the value of helping others.
