Uppingham School

FOCUS:
Pioneers and forward-thinkers
From its foundations in 1584, Uppingham School has flourished alongside the small market town where its located. With boarding houses and other facilities scattered around the local community there is a sense of normality rather than ‘ivory tower’. This integration of the two communities forms a solid bedrock for pupils from all over the world. Uppingham are passionate about inspiring their pupils to be curious, creative, and confident. They balance academic priorities with a comprehensive co-curricular programme; whether on stage, in the classroom, or on the sports field, pupils are encouraged to challenge and debate, developing the vital critical thinking and leadership skills they will need in the future. Science and Art facilities particularly stand out, as does the music. Boarding house cohorts are expertly curated making pupils feel part of an extended ‘family’.
