College Prep has been shaping a community of leaders for over 60 years. They encourage pupils to engage in big ideas, to relish the craft of scholarship and to develop their individual intellectual and creative voices and establish enduring ‘habits of mind’. The premise that everyone learns from and with one another, creates a kind, collaborative and cohesive community; pupils debate, discuss and discover ways of applying their learning in the wider world. Located in Oakland, California the 5-acre campus blends beautiful outdoor spaces with a wide range of facilities including modern classrooms, science labs and art studios. They also have an XLAB maker-space for hands-on learning and design experiences. Whilst the University outcomes are impressive, College Prep draws pride from their graduates ‘resilience, deep sense of interconnectedness, and optimistic appreciation of possibility’.
