Shrewsbury School
FOCUS:
Education is 'serious fun'
One of the ‘Greats’, Shrewsbury is located on a beautiful campus along the River Severn, within walking distance of the historic town. A 450 year history means the school balances a blend of tradition and innovation and, as the alma mater of Charles Darwin, the philosophy of evolution in education is well embedded. A Head of Innovation encourages both pupils and teachers to take risks in their learning, while a Head of Adventure and Head of Futures demonstrates the all-round focus on an education that challenges and prepares pupils for life beyond academia. High level sport, the girls are national cricket champions and the rowers regularly compete at the Henley Regatta, multiple drama productions and music performances and a thriving CCF means everyone can find their niche.
