Groton School
FOCUS:
Character, scholarship, leadership
Episcopalian Reverend Peabody founded a school to ‘educate the sons of the wealthy entrepreneurs of the Gilded Age’; it is now co-ed, with an international intake and a needs-blind policy. It is a small school and the boarding environment fosters a close-knit, family community with international pupils creating openness to ideas from other environments and cultures. Academically, the school prides itself on unlocking the potential in each child with a curriculum focused on critical thinking and problem-solving skills via studying everything from STEM to Latin. A holistic education demands access to a range of facilities and Groton delivers with an expansive athletic complex, the Campbell Performing Arts Centre, and state-of-the-art science labs. The Groton experience cultivates intellectual risk taking, instills strong character and builds leaders who will benefit the community.
