Upper Canada College
FOCUS:
Opportunities abound
One of the oldest schools in Canada, UCC is part of the Canadian cultural tradition, responsible for educating Olympians, politicians and business leaders. The Head, Mr. McKinney believes “boys thrive best in a school environment that meets the needs of the whole child, not just needs in the area of academics”. Their focus on education as a transformational learning experience is delivered via the IB programme, encouraging rigorous academic debate and critical thinking. Service is a commitment made by founder Sir John Colborne in 1829 and still honoured today. There is a stunning array of sporting facilities offering 19 different sports and two ice hockey arenas, and their Norval campus for wilderness learning, cross country skiing and making Maple syrup.
