King’s Academy (Jordan)

FOCUS:
Developing young leaders
Established in 2007, King’s Academy blends a US style of education with the traditions and cultural values of the Middle East. Pupils are drawn from over 40 nationalities and whilst the curriculum is taught in English, Arabic is compulsory for all. At least three-quarters of pupils board at the school’s 140-acre campus; which provides a full range of sporting and academic facilities, in addition to an interfaith spiritual centre, a 50,000-book library and a hydroponic farm. Affectionately known as ‘Deerfield in the desert’ its broad educational approach fulfils the vision of its founder, King Abdullah, of producing "a new generation of enlightened and creative minds.
